Salt Warrior
Learn more about Salt Warrior.
Fresh water removes visible salt but doesn't break the ionic bond between chloride and metal or painted surfaces. Salt Warrior's formula is specifically designed to neutralise and lift soluble salts at a molecular level, achieving residual salt levels that fresh water washing rarely reaches — and well below the thresholds where corrosion accelerates.
Use the Salt Warrior Zone Checker at saltwarrior.com.au. Use Google Earth to measure your straight-line distance to the nearest surf break and assign your corrosivity zone from C0 (negligible) to C5 (extreme).
A DIY salt wash treatment is when you apply Salt Warrior yourself using our 2L hose-connect bottle attached to your garden hose, or a foam gun attached to your pressure washer. You don't need specialist equipment or trade experience, connect the 2L bottle to your garden hose, dial onto soap, and apply to walls, windows, screens, AC units, gutters and any other salt-exposed surfaces. For higher or longer reach, fill your foam gun with the recommended concentrate to water ratio, attach it to your pressure washer gun and apply. Rinse with fresh water 2–5 minutes after application. Salt Warrior concentrate does the work, neutralising and lifting soluble salts that fresh water alone leaves behind. It's designed to be done by any homeowner within 24 hours of a wind event or storm, or on a regular maintenance schedule depending on your zone.
Yes. Any vehicle that has been driven on the beach, launched at an ocean boat ramp, or exposed to salt spray should be treated immediately after the outing regardless of where you live. Salt begins bonding to surfaces within hours of exposure.
Salt Warrior is pH neutral, phosphate-free and formulated for use around people, your garden and animals at recommended dilutions. Always follow the label directions.
It depends on your zone. C5 and C4 properties (within 300m of the surf break) need 3 professional salt washes per year plus frequent DIY treatments. Further inland the frequency reduces — C2 properties typically need one professional salt wash and 1–3 DIY treatments per year. Use the Salt Warrior Zone Checker for a recommendation.
A professional salt wash treats areas that a garden hose cannot reach — gutters, roof screws, eaves, second-storey surfaces and sheltered cavities where salt accumulates but rain never rinses. DIY treatment handles accessible surfaces between professional visits. Both are needed in higher exposure zones for full protection.
Yes. Salt Warrior Boat & Auto Salt Wash is formulated for boats, trailers, 4WDs, cars, RVs and motorbikes. For outboard and inboard engines, use Salt Warrior Marine Engine Flush after every saltwater use. For fishing rods, reels, diving and spearfishing gear, the Fishing Gear & Tackle 1L trigger spray is ideal.
Yes. Reels, rods, hooks, lures, spearfishing gear, dive regulators, buoyancy control devices (BCDs) and wetsuits all suffer accelerated corrosion and degradation from salt exposure. After every saltwater session, spray Salt Warrior directly onto reels and metal components using the 1L trigger spray, work it into the drag system, line roller and bail arm, then rinse with fresh water after 30 seconds. For rods, apply along guides, ferrules and reel seat. Do not flush the internal drag mechanism directly with water, apply Salt Warrior externally only and allow to penetrate before rinsing. Tackle boxes, gaffs, landing nets and knife handles benefit from a quick spray and wipe after each session. Regulators and BCDs should be rinsed according to manufacturer guidelines. Salt Warrior can be used on external metal and rubber components. A few minutes after every session is all it takes to dramatically extend the life of gear that gets expensive to replace.
Within 24 hours. Salt is easiest to remove while it is still on the surface — the longer it sits, the deeper it bonds into pores and joins, where it draws moisture and accelerates corrosion. A timely application after a wind event or storm delivers significantly better protection than waiting a week.
No product can stop corrosion completely in a coastal environment, salt always wins eventually. What Salt Warrior does is significantly extend the interval between corrosion events and asset replacements. Think of it as reducing your Ocean Tax, not eliminating it.
